The Internet traffic quota system works quite well. I feel, however, that increasing the daily increment to 10 MB per day instead of the current 5 MB per day would be more adequate for students. All it takes is to search for and access a dozen or so academic online papers and your maximum of 40 MB quota is exhausted. Following this, you have to wait 8 days (without using the internet) before your quota is fully replenished (5 MB per day increment for 8 days = 40 MB). Our most recent description of the Internet traffic arrangement is dated July 2001: http://netserve.anu.edu.au/cache/quota.html We will publish a more recent description. This will tell users about the following:
I feel that the user storage space of 50 MB (provided on the server "pebble") is restricting. I have found myself deleting files that I wanted to keep (so that I could access them for other assignment use) to make space for projects I was doing at the time. This resource limit has not been changed for some time. We have been working on the problem in the following ways.
